SPECIFICATION OF S/Y AMANDA OF SWEDEN INTRODUCTIONScandinavian steel double-ender S/Y "AMANDA OF SWEDEN" with her safe long-keel and sturdy rig shows sailing characteristics that should not be possible for a fine cruising boat like this. She was built for high-sea sailing and offers great comfort for cruising long distances. The vast aft cockpit allows comfortable steering. All halyard and reefing lines are controlled from the cockpit. The carpentry is excellent with well-made laminated wood edgings and counters, fine doors and louvered cupboard fronts made of mahogany. The engine installation has good air intake and is well sound insulated. The manoeuvring ability is excellent, as well as the sailing qualities. The layout of the yacht is logical, well arranged and works for long periods on board either at sea or in the harbour. The floor is the same level throughout the boat. The headroom in saloon is about 185-195 cm, and in aft cabin 175-185 cm. This contributes to easy access to all cabins. The light and airy saloon with opening side windows as well as opening skylights give the interior extra "space". The displacement of the yacht is designed to give you the generous stowage you need for long voyages, but also space for all modern comfort equipment. Access to technical equipment is made easy for service. With the yacht generous tank capacity you will be able to undertake serious cruising. The cockpit is generous in size and offers good all-round visibility. The powerful 100 hp engine is an important part of the long distance cruiser. It runs at cruising speed at 2000 RPM. Furthermore, a three bladed propeller secures strong propulsion performance under power when you need it - an important point which cannot be emphasized enough. Despite the fact that the boat is built as a top-of-the-range yacht, she can actually be sailed single-handed. Anchor raising operations, set and sheet the sails - all can be handled from the cockpit. On board of the S/Y "AMANDA OF SWEDEN” the owner and select friends may enjoy the reality, not simply the dream, of far horizons.
